For many, volunteering can be a part of that journey.When you feel you are ready, you may find it healing to get involved in the work of suicide prevention and/or supporting other survivors of suicide loss. The American Foundation for Suicide Prevention offers many opportunities through our network of chapters for people to make a difference in achieving our mission of saving lives and bringing hope to those affected by suicide. Our Suicide Bereavement Support Group Facilitator Training program shows suicide loss survivors far enough along in their own healing the how-tos of creating and facilitating a peer-to-peer support group. It is appropriate both for survivors who would like to start a new group, as well as those who currently facilitate a group and would like to increase their knowledge and skills.
