b'Healing Conversations Healing Conversations gives those who have lost someone to suicide the opportunity to speak with an experienced volunteer, who are themselves survivors of suicide loss and know firsthand the pain associated with this experience. These trained volunteers can help provide guidance and empathy, and share useful community resources through a one-time visit with the loss survivor. Visits are available in person, on the phone or by video chat. International Survivors of Suicide Loss Day Each year, AFSP supports hundreds of International Survivors of Suicide Loss Day (also known as Survivor Day) events around the world. At these events, suicide loss survivors come together to find comfort and understanding through their shared experience. While each event is unique and offers various programming, all events feature an AFSP-produced documentarythat shares a message of growth, resilience and connection. Survivor Day takes place annually on the Saturday before American Thanksgiving as the holidays are often a difficult time for suicide loss survivors.AFSP also hosts two panel discussions with loss survivors each year. Survivor Day Live takes place on Survivor Day (the Saturday before American Thanksgiving). To support suicide loss survivors in the Latinx and Hispanic community, AFSP also hosts Da de Esperanza (Day of Hope) in Spanish on the Friday before American Thanksgiving.Program Priorities 14'
