Suicide Research SymposiumEach Spring, AFSP co-hosts the virtual Suicide Research Symposium, which wasdeveloped to share a wide variety of research to promote suicide prevention.Fund New ResearchAs the largest private funder of suicide research, AFSP funds neurobiological, psychosocial, and genetic research, as well as studies to develop treatments and community programs to find the best ways to understand and prevent suicide. This year we have set diverse racial and ethnic diversity, understudied populations with elevated suicide rates, and survivors of suicide loss as priorities, in order to stimulate new research in these areas.
