b'AFSP is committed to engaging diverse communities in developing and delivering culturally relevant suicide prevention education programs in their communities.AFSP believes representation matters. Every part of the program process involves members that are from the community: from development to delivery. AFSP has carried out this model to create several new education programs:Talk Saves Lives An Introduction to Suicide Prevention Talk Saves Lives: An Introduction to Suicide Prevention is AFSPs flagship suicide prevention education program that covers the scope of this leading cause of death, what the research has found to be the warning signs and risk factors of suicide, and the strategies that prevent it. This presentation may be tailored for more targeted audiences in a variety of settings (e.g., LGBTQ communities, older adults, firearm owners, corrections staff, etc.) This 45-60 minute presentation is available in-person and virtually.
